Permanent anti-fog technology developed

Permanent anti-fog technology developed: "WASHINGTON, DC, United States (UPI) -- Scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology say they might have found a permanent solution to the problem of foggy windows and lenses.
The researchers report developing a polymer coating made of silica nanoparticles that can create surfaces that never fog.
The transparent coating can be applied to eyeglasses, camera lenses, ski goggles or even bathroom mirrors, they said.
Although some anti-fog technologies currently exist, the MIT researchers say they have drawbacks. For example, anti-fog sprays that help reduce fogging on the inside of car windows must be constantly reapplied to remain effective. And glass containing titanium dioxide also shows promise for reduced fogging, but the method only works under ultraviolet light.
'Our coatings have the potential to provide the first permanent solution to the fogging problem,' says study leader Michael Rubner, a materials science researcher at MIT. 'Coated glass appears clearer and allows more light to pass through than untreated glass, while maintaining the same smooth texture.
The anti-fog technology was described Monday during the 230th national meeting in of the American Chemical Society, the world`s largest scientific society, in Washington."
That is pretty neat, I hate how my bathroom mirror always fog up or my glasses or goggles. This will really help people who snowboard or ski, the last I want to happen when I am going down a steep hill is for my goggles fogging up makeing it difficult to see.
