Screen Resolution Help

OK The "L" looks good in every screen resolution except 800x600 in that resolution the text on the left gets really close to the side of the screen it is all scrunched. Please if you can help me add padding or margin or anything to fix this, please email me at: WEBMASTER@THELNEWS.COM (all caps)

Also if you can help me make the 2 side panels equal without setting a height, the height of the 2 side panels has to be able to change on its own.
